Borderlands 3 Can Class Mods Roll With Splash Damage
Class mods in Borderlands 3 have a name or suffix that will note the skills given by the class mod. Skills that are boosted by class mods will also be shown in the skill tree selection, listing the number of bonus points from the mod and the final percentages for the skill. It is possible to get up to three different skills boosted by a class mod.
Unlike previous titles, class mods will now grant all effects for any skills even if they have not been purchased, allowing for greater class diversification.
Legendary class mods grant a special effect when equipped, in addition to their skill and stats bonuses.

The rarity of a class mod determines how many skill bonuses are given:
- Common - 1 skill bonus
- Uncommmon - 2 skill bonuses
- Rare - 3 skill bonuses
- Epic - 5 skill bonuses
- Legendary - 5 skill bonuses
These bonuses are split between three skills, with each skill getting between zero and five bonus points. Skills with five levels can receive a maximum of five bonus points, skills with three levels can receive three, while skills with only one level can receive at most one bonus point. There are a few exceptions to this rule.
Stat Bonuses
Unlike previous games, all class mods in Borderlands 3 uses modifiers to give boosts to random stats. There are two (Primary and Secondary) sets with 69 modifiers each, and all class mods share the same pool of potential stat modifiers.
